EuResist, the University of Siena, the University of Rome Tor Vergata, and ASST Santi Paolo e Carlo, all members of the Viromarkers consortium, came together in Padua for the 17th edition of ICAR, the Italian Conference on AIDS and Antiviral Research.
Lorenzo Piermatteo and Stefano D'Anna, from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, presented "An increased genetic variability characterises HDV sub-genotypes 1 and can drive the selection of divergent genetic pathways modulating HDV replicative potential and cytolytic activity" and "HBV integration can sustain intrahepatic HDV activity and can modulate HBV pathogenetic potential", respectively.
